School Expectations

All students have the right to learn in a classroom that is calm and free from distractions.  All students and staff come to school to be in a safe and caring environment.
Students are expected to:
  • Arrive at lessons promptly within 5 minutes.
  • Line up quietly outside the classroom until the teacher arrives.
  • Put books, equipment and planners on the desk at the start of the lesson.
  • Complete homework on time and to a high standard.
  • Follow the reasonable requests of staff.
  • Show respect to fellow pupils and staff.
  • Look after school property and the school environment.
  • Behave in a safe way before/after school, break and lunchtime.

As a school we believe that uniform is important. Looking smart contributes to a positive school ethos. Some uniform expectations are to do with health and safety issues. Years 7 - 11 should wear the following:

  • School purchased black sweatshirt or cardigan with school crest.
  • White school crested polo shirt.
  • Tailored black trousers.
  • Black knee length skirt (tailored knee length shorts or cropped trousers are also permitted).
  • A plain black belt is optional.
  • Top coats should be sensible and suitable for school.

To assist you in ensuring your children have the correct uniform our provider has all the above items except school footwear.  Uniform can be purchased directly from King's School Uniform Suppliers at and delivered either direct to your BFPO address or to King's School.  King's School Shop does not hold a large amount of uniform stock, therefore clothing items should be purchased directly from Motif8, click the link or the one on our home page to purchase school uniform.

Please note:

  • Jean style trousers with studs/zips or leggings/jeggings that are tight fitting are not permitted.
  • Denim jackets, tracksuit tops and hoodies are not permitted.

Jewellery, make-up & hairstyle

Students may wear a watch, a ring, a bracelet and a pair of matching gold or silver studs. Such items must not be dangerous and must be removed before PE lessons. Years 10 and 11 may wear subtle make-up. Hair should be natural in colour and in a style that does not provoke a distraction. Shaved patterns are not permitted.
