House Council Meetings

The student voice at King’s School is a very active and influential body that has a constant role to play in the general running of the school. We encourage all students to voice their opinions on a regular basis in tutor groups and these ‘grass roots’ meetings are called ‘Barometer Meetings’. Each tutor group elects one representative who sits on the House Council. House Council meetings are held every four weeks. Each House Council then elects two representatives from KS3 and two from KS4 who will sit on the School Council. This body also meets every four weeks as each House brings suggestions and views to the meeting;  it is chaired by Head Girl and Head Boy and is also attended by the Assistant Head (Community) as the senior staff representative. The School Council has an annual budget of £3000 and all year groups are able to make bids as to what they would like to spend the money on. The School Council are always consulted on any major changes that might occur in school, they are involved in the selection process of new teaching staff and they represent the ‘student voice’ when any outside agencies require an input from the students e.g. Ofsted. Minutes of the latest School Council meeting will be posted on this page. Current School Council members for 2018/2019 are:
